I recently received this tea from <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Alan Woon from sampletea which is the same year as the </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yiwu Mountain Ecological Arbor 2013. </span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here I have both cakes, which am not sure if they are the same cakes different wrapping? But what I what to talk about is dry storage vs. Malaysian storage. I have a <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yiwu Mountain Ecological Arbor cake since 2013 and dry storage in my tea cabinet and another Yiwu 2013 from </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Alan Woon, </span>Malaysian storage from 2013<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. Not enough time for the </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yiwu Mountain Ecological Arbor</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">tea to age, you can say. But what if you were to change the storage conditions of a cake from the same year and same kind (</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yiwu</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">). Would it taste be the same? Would </span>Malaysian storage really have any effect on taste and age?</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Looking at both cakes they look the same, right? The pictures does not tell the whole story but the cake storaged in Malaysian is a bit darker but hardly noticeable. I also think both almost smell the same. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Looking at the color of the liquor it looks the same but I think the Malaysian storaged one is a bit darker but again not noticeable.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

One can see the color better here. I think is a darker yellow color and on the first infusion too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-nK_ZbbTznRVBRj4PP6c2ImcVgTaFGOYu7bZscsviNTPIdTqyKKfwG_jIlEYwst7lZn8xidUzdNIJaZuXflRZxCbJaC2wBEWme9uw-2B7c-B4_zTCYZXrgs_vyieAL6PRpModbxy_cV46/s1600/20150710_181427.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-nK_ZbbTznRVBRj4PP6c2ImcVgTaFGOYu7bZscsviNTPIdTqyKKfwG_jIlEYwst7lZn8xidUzdNIJaZuXflRZxCbJaC2wBEWme9uw-2B7c-B4_zTCYZXrgs_vyieAL6PRpModbxy_cV46/s320/20150710_181427.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Now for the tasting notes. I have to say that this Yiwu (Malaysian storage) taste the same as I stated in Yiwu Mountain Ecological Arbor dry storage but a little bit heavier in taste in the mouth.<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Meaning the not same as an aged taste but well on it's way in tasting aged. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 14.8500003814697px; line-height: 20.7900009155273px;"></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">n the first infusion the liquor is little darker</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> yellow hue as stated before and also feels thicker than dry storage. This tea also fills the mouth with the same tastes of young Yiwu but more define. Still has nice Yiwu taste with a touch of sweetness but again richer in taste! Second infusion more of the same taste but with a little bit of sweetness echo in back of your tongue and throat. The rest of the infusions were the same but more consistent with the flavors not letting up like the dried storage, previously done before. I pushed this tea up to ten infusions like the dried storage! </span><br />

When I opened up the package, I got smells of spiciness and fresh grass aroma. This tea reminds me of an aged white puerh. The smells from the leaves makes my mouth water.<br />

The leaves are a little choppy looking but whole for the most part. Also the leaves have very little stems attached to them but it does not interfere with the flavor of this tea.</div>

The more I drink Okayti Silver Needle Darjeeling, it reminds me of an aged white puerh. When you try fresh white puerh, its has a strong taste of spiciness and maltiness. When brewing fresh white puerh, one has to be careful to put little leave when brewing it, or it'll be an overpowering taste of spice and maltiness. I also like aged white puerh because when aged it mellows out the strong flavors nicely. So, if you like white puerh you love Okayti Silver Needle Darjeeling because you don't have to wait to age it. I also notice that you can steep this tea longer and it does not seem to get bitter. I wish I could try more of these teas from <b style="font-style: italic;">Golden Tips</b> but my friend drank them up fast and only saved this white tea for me because am a white tea connoisseur. My friend did leave me a little bit of Avaata Supreme Nilgiri which I'll review later. </div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I will agree with whats has been posted that the cake was stone pressed and that it probably made for gifts because its not for sale or if you look at the hole in the middle of the cake it's off centered. I was kinda excited to noticed the off centered hole, I told Emmet because it was specially made from a batch of his liking? Now to the tasting notes first rinse smells sweet can't put my finger on it? Fist infusion the liquor is yellow hue, feels thick and fills the mouth with tastes of young Yiwu, fresh air? nice puerh taste with a touch of sweetness of? Second infusion more of the same taste but little bit of sweetness echo in back of your tongue. The rest of the infusions were the same but consistent with the flavor not letting up, I pushed this tea up to ten infusions! I also wonder how this tea will be in years to come (T), I wish I could get more! The Yiwus, I tried this year only gave me a good five infusions and kinda went flat, this one by far was pretty good!</span><br />

Today I retried a <span class="catalog-grid-title">2001 Golden Melon Tribute Tea from Fine puer, which received before the holidays but like I said before, I got that crazy flu so I couldn't report on it until now. I could of sworn that somebody else commented on this tea just as it was on transit but I can't remember who. The reason I bring it up is because we had different tasting notes which comes to show you that everybody tastes are different (Emmit commented on this tea with more complexity then I did). Well back to the tasting notes: when I first opened the melon, I didn't get no smell to it until I did the first rinse, which was sweet sugar cane? I do got add this note when buying this tea the vender warned me that the melon was highly compressed (true!) but I told laughing not for my pick which you see! </span><br />
<span class="catalog-grid-title">First infusion I get faint maple syrup flavor. The color is orange </span> <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOM16pJ9k0AlLxDUKdThr8OLAze9BUJ2ViJ34VNxqDBA0l0CboGy3E5rM5RxzbEQ1lcycAXnXuSIsKh-8dqSV2H1PF_92-S5y_11dH45H4F0Msb_ldTFcKq1JAghHsgYGMgAZntMQj1Y2J/s1600/P2090484.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOM16pJ9k0AlLxDUKdThr8OLAze9BUJ2ViJ34VNxqDBA0l0CboGy3E5rM5RxzbEQ1lcycAXnXuSIsKh-8dqSV2H1PF_92-S5y_11dH45H4F0Msb_ldTFcKq1JAghHsgYGMgAZntMQj1Y2J/s320/P2090484.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span class="catalog-grid-title">Orange which is consistent to an age puerh of this age is good sign! With my camera its hard to see, the cup is the second infusion but the flash makes it look lighter.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCE8Aa68tAwpd2kpSIChR_Xp1y4-nSXhqF97mEz44UwS7sc-ObBvHcZQC9YYKEfKC5Dis1wwtri-U-M28aXIgAvyTjjpDGCf3vCjCZK1ydAzns8kluJNJuSFO4bwhxy0jBY1HfL333sZPq/s1600/P2090485.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCE8Aa68tAwpd2kpSIChR_Xp1y4-nSXhqF97mEz44UwS7sc-ObBvHcZQC9YYKEfKC5Dis1wwtri-U-M28aXIgAvyTjjpDGCf3vCjCZK1ydAzns8kluJNJuSFO4bwhxy0jBY1HfL333sZPq/s320/P2090485.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Second infusion you get smells of sweet sugar cane and maple syrup with a hint of camphor. The third and fourth infusion was smooth but with a more of camphor taste in the soup. By the fifth cup, I started feeling tea dunkness which was pretty good! The sixth infusion and on you have nice smooth taste with maple syrup echo in back of you throat mmmmm. I push this beyond ten infusion and lost count. Over all, not bad for a 2001 tea and the price not bad either! compared to buying a new one for the same price but probably wouldn't last as many brews! <br />

As for the leaves a lot of different sizes and chopped up leaves but it didn't effect the flavor at all in the end.<br />

The interesting part of this cake is that"<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Fermentation level is medium" which if you look on website cause it loose it "</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">fermentation "dui wei". Which when tasting it for the first time, I didn't taste that fermentation at all. </span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I was going to post a Yunnan Sourcing "Ai Loa Mountain" that I had it last nite but it tasted different from my tasting notes this morning! So I' ll write about Roasted Tikuanyin I had this afternoon instead, that I lost in mess of samples I have not gone through yet. Am sure you have one too :o)! Actually Emmett called my attention of this lost tea the other day and told me that it has aged very good! When we bought it together a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj90u0rDVI-zDDcbn9pUvOyQAbS0o0g5Xo_ELGRF14X82k_q2v1VCb2ob80tsCAg6PmLk0W6mNJiIkmeJ4wt6TRBKBfbzwyDAzMjlEjjDcwesLibbwzZgy7TQUqT9atu8JGVr-MIVK8KFm4/s1600/starwarsimages.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="102" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj90u0rDVI-zDDcbn9pUvOyQAbS0o0g5Xo_ELGRF14X82k_q2v1VCb2ob80tsCAg6PmLk0W6mNJiIkmeJ4wt6TRBKBfbzwyDAzMjlEjjDcwesLibbwzZgy7TQUqT9atu8JGVr-MIVK8KFm4/s320/starwarsimages.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Just kidding (guess who Emmett and I?) We don't remember where or how long back but Emmett wrote down ten years aged. I don't think I tried it back then, it got lost! <br />

First brew you taste a sweetness, I can put my finger on it maybe sugar cane, (not honey like the wedding Tikuanyin). Second infusion brings out a dark sweet, smooth smokiness flavor. Third infusion bring out a sweet flavor of cinnamon. <br />

Its the later part of the day and I decided to go grandpa style which I thought it would be fainter flavor but it stood up for two more 8oz brews! I stopped after that and didn't see if I could do it again.<br />
Talking to Emmet we figured the more a tea ages the more infusion you can do just like the tale of the two high officials who found a aged puerh and were able to brew many times over till they had there fill and stopped. <br />

</div>
Today I tried 2012 Early Spring Yi Wu Raw from Yunnan Sourcing and when you open up the package you get a strong fruity grass smell. The
leafs are light green with dark leaves mixed in. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtmVXFIwEVwaogn_lHZS3rTi3FdfOdvAp01cDdg02dghwRqBdVVgxab9XWE-WFfDsFqA9bwLyVXwTNz4YmwftqjxXyM6x_IGsTc77uUSR7ylD0E1I5Uh-NJAKLHDmQ9O_u9QiblKVPFwL7/s1600/PA100312.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtmVXFIwEVwaogn_lHZS3rTi3FdfOdvAp01cDdg02dghwRqBdVVgxab9XWE-WFfDsFqA9bwLyVXwTNz4YmwftqjxXyM6x_IGsTc77uUSR7ylD0E1I5Uh-NJAKLHDmQ9O_u9QiblKVPFwL7/s320/PA100312.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The first rinse you get
light fruity smell with nice light yellow liquor. The first infusion you get mouth watering flavors of light over tones of fruit in you mouth.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Second infusion you get more young puerh taste with grassy under tones. The third infusion the leaves start to open up more and you get a hint of apricot over tone with still young puerh taste after the sweetness. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK9l9hG140JreDiWadD8hW-Ua6-gZU4sRWLdM5J1qPw7mDH97Rq4myr4GekkNxREdwv3JAgLnZa9fJ2UsJhin7uRn1Xv9qJVCvKHt_6fomAv37l2a7RyZKciSY4opO_aquCHFl47wkg9aG/s1600/PA100313.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK9l9hG140JreDiWadD8hW-Ua6-gZU4sRWLdM5J1qPw7mDH97Rq4myr4GekkNxREdwv3JAgLnZa9fJ2UsJhin7uRn1Xv9qJVCvKHt_6fomAv37l2a7RyZKciSY4opO_aquCHFl47wkg9aG/s320/PA100313.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
By the fifth infusion you get a floral echo in the back of your tongue
and not until you get to the eight infusion the echo turns to fruity
over tones which is also felt in back of you tongue.<i> </i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic8oMizUN0UtMxJJmxCNnFn06mnm5x4lFdlgNtHJToDh1NpWuaSwrc6BJgVFUugrApJYRa2ebrrZTFnAmLccbiddRkXWBUkI58h_M376EMY63f9kc4Zkjrcl8XdbaqFaVYDmS6r11C6ZKd/s1600/CandHgoodfeeling.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic8oMizUN0UtMxJJmxCNnFn06mnm5x4lFdlgNtHJToDh1NpWuaSwrc6BJgVFUugrApJYRa2ebrrZTFnAmLccbiddRkXWBUkI58h_M376EMY63f9kc4Zkjrcl8XdbaqFaVYDmS6r11C6ZKd/s1600/CandHgoodfeeling.jpg" /></a></div>
<i> </i>Over all the puerh was light maybe good for any everyday tea and maybe in the morning brew when you want something lite and not to complex like Jakub Tomek says in <br />
<h3 class="post-title entry-title" itemprop="name">
"Two Keyixing bricks: 94 from Finepuer, 90s from thechineseteashop" </h3>
<div class="post-title entry-title" itemprop="name">
Come to think of it, I never though about drinking lite puerh like that in the morning. Until I read his blog I drank a cooked or green tea in the morning. I would agree with him you could have tea you want to drink in morning (lite puerh less complex) or take it a little further for different moods of the day too. For example some people like myself like white wine for hot summer nites and red for winter months even vodka on the rocks depending on mood Ect.... I guess if your like me and don't want wake up to fast and instead wake up slowly on the days I don't have to go to work :o)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Today I tried another sample of Pu-erh.sk "Man Nuo 2011" </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
When I opened the package, I got a little sweet smell of fruitiness from the package. The leaves look light green mixed with dark green. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
When I did the first rise, I got aromas of smokiness and hints of fruity smells and color of the liquor was a light yellow.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihpyTfQ_A7j9FI7GiBVQ_3H4_bWiWIks5QE87i5Ffd4zgnq-gtrJ1FHUmoJRDG3A2_fMekW80x1SZKFdz5X-hR71JOWVyt1Q61q-7gtX49-fMmB_4Xks7F38H3a6j3vxmppdqDqkw-0aAP/s1600/PA170382.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihpyTfQ_A7j9FI7GiBVQ_3H4_bWiWIks5QE87i5Ffd4zgnq-gtrJ1FHUmoJRDG3A2_fMekW80x1SZKFdz5X-hR71JOWVyt1Q61q-7gtX49-fMmB_4Xks7F38H3a6j3vxmppdqDqkw-0aAP/s320/PA170382.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
First brew brought out flavors of smokiness and tastes of light fruits in
your mouth. The second through the fifth brew brought out the same kind
of flavors but seemed to have no complexity and the flavors got lighter soon then expected (but very smooth). At this point (Fifth brew) I also got an echo in the back
of my throat which was again faint but nice thing about the tea. I think that it wouldn't be a good pick
for an every day brew or maybe when your on the run for grandpa, if you consider the price of this cake! I 'd take a pass personally :o)
The cake is young and maybe after a few years of aging it could change (I wish I had a crysle ball to know which cakes will be the best later!).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLBc385oWl-Z-m3qBOUFm9ZR1FoafJiKN4f6sxW1cazWUAU5hx-5Cwpfsq2iBQJoVrzHPQqu97VM5uyN4R4zr6W0XMPJIkzqw1vD6-mwf1YDVaK9hh2Ov-bd6qe51L3_-uAssvrV9xMkkL/s1600/micky.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLBc385oWl-Z-m3qBOUFm9ZR1FoafJiKN4f6sxW1cazWUAU5hx-5Cwpfsq2iBQJoVrzHPQqu97VM5uyN4R4zr6W0XMPJIkzqw1vD6-mwf1YDVaK9hh2Ov-bd6qe51L3_-uAssvrV9xMkkL/s1600/micky.jpg" /></a></div>
I have had some cakes that at first were ok but after
letting them age or rest in my cabinet at bit it, they exploded with flavors after six months! Back to the tasting notes, I also got an echo in the back
of my throat which was again faint but welcoming. I would try it out for yourself before you make your decision on buying a cake. I know that when Emmett and I try different cakes their are ones he likes and one I like.<br />

The mystery red top Tikuanyin I received from my mother in-law a few months ago has good flavor for a commercial brand but I wish I had a name of the company that makes it. She bought this one in shop in Hong Kong.</div>

You can tell that it has been lightly roasted (the leaves look slightly green and dark) and it gives off a sweet floral smell when you open the tin.<br />

<br />
When you give it the first rinse you get a honey, floral over tone smell and the liquor is bright yellow.<br />
First
infusion you get a nectar, floral taste that fills the mouth. the
second infusion the taste has over tones that are stronger in the first infusion. The fifth
infusion the leaves are fully open and you get the full impact of the
complexity of all the flavors in your mouth, which I think is the best
infusion! I got seven infusion in this seccion and I think if the
Tikuanyin was young maybe I would gotten five, but it have been a good
three years since it been made. I am going to put it away and let it age
a little longer.<br />
<br />
<br />

This is a picture of the cup my mother in-law gave me along with the tea
and it pairs good with Oolongs! I don't know if you have noticed that
different shape cups enhance the flavor (allows you to smell better the
tea) of the tea, kinda like different cups for wine. I think it how you
nose is position to the cup which allows you to taste more (without your nose you wouldn't be able to taste the same). If you have
cup collection like I do, try different tea in it until you find one that you
think makes you taste and smell the tea better. You'll be surprised on some flavor you have tasted with the tea you have! I'll post my different
cups later and tell you my thoughts enjoy!<br />

This morning am going to drink this green tea "Misencha Fukamushicha" that I bought at my local Japanese store which carries some good green tea! When you open up the package it smell like fresh air and grassy.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
When I infuse it the first time you can smell fresh air and nuttiness from the liquor and the leaves. The color is light green and the brew tastes sweet and little nuttiness flavor.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK_uhK8-sHZuw5txO5EbOS3X9jZDFFxJei73-CZgokHiZBKzmhI2Ul9-8dOApso0qQmgQ9Z0JzuObu3HsOX5h5Bk4EECyTQGvJMg6PucKkiig5SWdjDBiLrxJXxpK8qf-UEvQvAjj7ctPU/s1600/PA100335.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK_uhK8-sHZuw5txO5EbOS3X9jZDFFxJei73-CZgokHiZBKzmhI2Ul9-8dOApso0qQmgQ9Z0JzuObu3HsOX5h5Bk4EECyTQGvJMg6PucKkiig5SWdjDBiLrxJXxpK8qf-UEvQvAjj7ctPU/s320/PA100335.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The second infusion I let the water cool down for another few minutes. When I infusion-ed the first infusion, I let the water cool down for four minutes after boiling the water. When you infuse green tea with boiling water, I found out that it burns the leaves giving you a harsh bitter taste every time ( unlike puerh ). I've read that by cooling water after boiling it, brings out the sweet flavor in green tea which the Japanese like. Back to the tasting notes, you get a sweeter grass smell and the taste is more define with nutty green taste. Am going to enjoy this infusion with my tea pet!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYD8DX8W8b0Ep5eqxYse2yq5EkP8WbgGMlSWbGgvAYXcDJF8pWTliBr6361ceirRIgLcDk6qqv00tV1FfZssnFWutkwUGTvUSOkjXv0QRmYMqnCdtRFhn6BE-a2Nd2Weil2_uhCs7b1i4B/s1600/PA100336.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYD8DX8W8b0Ep5eqxYse2yq5EkP8WbgGMlSWbGgvAYXcDJF8pWTliBr6361ceirRIgLcDk6qqv00tV1FfZssnFWutkwUGTvUSOkjXv0QRmYMqnCdtRFhn6BE-a2Nd2Weil2_uhCs7b1i4B/s320/PA100336.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The third infusion you still smell a sweetness in the liquor and the taste is little liter in sweetness and nuttiness. I can probably keep infusion this tea for couple more infusions but now am going to run out and enjoy the sunny day today.<br />

Emmett and I have been wanted to solve the mystery of the white little
bags of Tikuanyin. This tin of Oolong was given to my mother in-law when
my sister in-law was married in 2005. I thought at first this Oolong was
just high roasted and had no idea it was aged. Emmett and I think this
Oolong is about 10 plus years, may be older. I took pictures of the
tin but could not find a date :o( . When it was purchased though my mother was told it was already age for some time?<br />

Now for the tasting notes. After the first rise you get honey, nectarine and smokey smell. The color of the liquor is dark yellow.
First infusion tastes like honey and spicy. When I tasted this Oolong
for the first time I though it tasted like a Rock Wu Yi but different (probably from the high roasting) . <br />

I really did not shrink the tea, even though I wish I could do the opposite when I run low on tea I love or the vintage they don't sell any more. The taste of tiny tuo-chas are the best when am running to work or sometime, I am going to class like today. Tuo-chas come in all different sizes from
your regular 100 grams (or greater) and as small as 3- 5 grams. They also come in different flavors (rose, chrysanthemum est..) and they come in raw too! The reason I'm writing this is because I was reading Emmett's blog the
other day and he likes Xiaguan tuo-chas (regular size) over the cakes even though the quality of the leaf is not the best. The quality of the leaf do not always mean good or bad tea. I just drink what taste good to me and in these case tiny tuo-chas!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC1qFM-YgNwwpCcq4aq1QTmKzKLToopdn8AvmfEwuXXDtTHUQf3Lik0y8Td8L9dej6rjQpA1gI30nDyI2pjHW2uPgHt5vwMEnG-X3sQE0NwPOiIekTUwhiYH8AjhkeY_XDEbKbfvp7VnRZ/s1600/P9240285.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC1qFM-YgNwwpCcq4aq1QTmKzKLToopdn8AvmfEwuXXDtTHUQf3Lik0y8Td8L9dej6rjQpA1gI30nDyI2pjHW2uPgHt5vwMEnG-X3sQE0NwPOiIekTUwhiYH8AjhkeY_XDEbKbfvp7VnRZ/s1600/P9240285.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The reason I like tiny tuo-chas is because its fast, convenient and tiny as you can see. Like I said before when I'm in a hurry, I
like to throw in a little 3-5 gram tuo-cha into my mug, infuse it for about a minute and then I'm ready to go! I'll just take the little strainer with me to work and infuse it 2 more times in my mug and I got my Cha fix at work. Or
if I don't want to reach
into my cabinet for my cakes, I'll just grab a little tuo-cha too and throw it in my pot and instant tea! Another idea from one of the venders from China town is to bring your favorite tuo-cha and drink it when your dinning out in China town or dinning some where else if they let you just buy the hot water (cup). <br />

One more note, infusions aren't as long and the grade of leaves isn't the best (like I said before) but if you have been drinking tea as long as I have, you might notice by now it doesn't matter, as
long as the tea tastes good to you (some of the good ones are made from lower grade tea like Emmett's preferring Xaiguan (big ones) tuo-chas over cakes ) enjoy! <br />

The first infusion has a nice yellow hue and smells like young Puerth with a little bit of citrus. When you drink it though, their is no citrus taste but has a nice, not to strong and over power taste of young puerth with mild chi feeling.<br />

After a few infusions you get a sweetness in the back of your throat.<br />

Every cup coats the mouth with young puerth taste. I did not get the wet
storage taste though but that probably because I had small chunk
exposed to air. Sometime I notice when you get a new cake it has a smell
that you don't like (wet storage maybe) dirt kid you not!!! but after a
got it out of the package and let it air out it for a week it smelled
like normal puerh. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I told Emmit that, I thought the cake, I bought the other day was bad or a fake!<br />

The leaves looks like a spring pick and you have A bud with two leaves (nice small leafs). The over is good!<br />
